Be yourself and say what you feel

 "In November, breathing the air in New Delhi for a day was the same as smoking 50 cigarettes,” TOI said. The city isn’t the only one with polluted skies—one in nine deaths globally are now caused by air . pollution, making it the world’s top environmental health risk . The front page news made me deeply saddened and I decided to join the environmental campaigns, to restore my city to the older clean glory. 

It’s no surprise that air pollution is a serious threat to human health. With every single breath, you’re breathing nth amount of air pollutants with it. Even the low concentration of these pollutants can damage a lot in our body. Obviously, small kids are an easy target as their breathing capability is much higher than the adults, which means they breathe higher amount of pollutants too. Other than them, people who have a history of cardiovascular or respiratory illness are at risk too, as their immunity level is not as good as of others.

The most common effects of air pollution are irritation of eyes, nose, and throat, low productivity, dizziness, and headaches

 This click is from my bedroom balcony after rains , just when the sun popped out . It is is stark & dark contrast to the middle picture which was clicked at 2 p.m. on a polluted day .The easiest and most cost-effective path to negative emissions is to plant and conserve trees, bushes, crops and soil. So I started with plantation at home first, spreading to neighborhood sidewalk and Society grounds. 

 Oceans are rising — literally, in terms of sea levels — and also  on political agendas. Will it be enough to save the seas?  I am still thinking .....
