Be yourself and say what you feel

13th Batch of Amity University Summer School Program (AUSS) 2019 commencing from 27th May to 7th June 2019.

Space, Science and Technology Program

(Artificial Intelligence, Machine & Deep Learning )

It was quite a different decision, which most people of my age wouldn’t prefer or wouldn’t even consider. But I did. The decision to go out of my comfort zone of vacations which ever student looks forward to. The decision to wake up early every morning, and work for a good 7 hours rather than sleep, and of course to mingle with different kinds of people from different parts of the country. Yes, I decided to go to an University despite being in high school. At first, when my school suggested this to me, I wasn’t quite into it. The idea of sacrificing my 14 days of vacation didn’t seem quite appealing. But it all hit me when I had reached there. When I was sitting in a classroom with people I’ve never seen, and knowledgeable professors who seemed so inspiring. It was quite overwhelming at first. To step out of my zone where I always seemed to depend on my parents, and do things on my own. I still remember when I ordered pizza on my own. When I had to go around the campus in scorching heat, and ask people for directions. I did it all on my own, and there was a sense of satisfaction and pride to it. At first I thought I would never be able to make new friends because I had joined late, and socializing was never quite my plus point. But life always has surprises to offer. I made a friend with whom I started going around places. I was grateful that I have a soul I can share the same experience with. Apart from everything and all the experiences I had, the most vivid was the sense of growing and the aura of staying in the world you know little of. A world you would create by your own efforts, without a helping hand. I have learned so much through this experience and now have quite some confidence on how to survive on my own. This also has helped me get a foresight on my career through the course I opted for, and made me have a firm idea on what I want to do. Overall, it has been just so much more than just a class for the Space, Science and Technology. It’s a step forward, and a motivation.
